I always enjoy taking the ferries that cross the Huangpu whenever I’m biking to Pudong(they’re also the only way to go if you have a bike). I’ve taken these over the past few months when I’m on the boats.
Some of my “Photosynthesis” work is being featured by Illy Coffee at Milan Design Week. If you happen to be in Italy, you should definitely check it out. There are some really great SVA photographers in the show, it’s at Via Tortona 35, Milano until April 19th.
I finally picked up a macro lens while in Hong Kong, so I’ve been playing with that all week. enjoy!
I just found out about a very cool opportunity to travel and learn photography. SVA is running a Digital Photography Residency in Shanghai in June and July. On Sunday, Frances and I caught a bus out to Oriental Green Boat Land in the suburbs of Shanghai. It’s one of the stranger places I think I’ve been to. It’s a holiday resort but with a military theme. The centerpiece of it all is a replica aircraft carrier, which houses a musuem to State Security. They also have a large assortment of mothballed fighter jets all over the place and a large “battlefield” complete with trenches and rusty barbed wire. All in all a pretty interesting place to spend an afternoon, and they have go-karts.
